- IgD is a particular isotype of Antibody (See page). IgD is usually expressed at very low levels as a membrane protein on immature B-cells. While IgD likely may act as a B-cell Receptor in this membrane-bound context, this isotype does not appear to be secreted in significant quantities. Consequently the immunological role of IgD is fairly obscure and is likely not physiologically of significant importance.
