Thin Loop of Henle Transport
Overview |
---|
- The descending and ascending arms of the thin loop of Henle display differential functions in transport of water and solutes. The thin descending Henle displays a high permeability to water and solutes and is responsible for approximately 20% of water resorption, although transport of these molecules occurs completely passively. The thin ascending Henle is nearly impermeable to both water and solutes and thus does not contribute to their resorption.
