- Various subtypes of intracranial hemorrhage exist, each with a distinct etiology and anatomic location. Certain populations are at greater risk for various forms of intracranial hemorrhage. Classification of the hemorrhage is often done through the use of diagnostic imaging, which is essential given the potential for grave consequences if left untreated.
