- Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a a regulatory cytokine which activates Natural Killer Cells and skews differentiation of CD4+ T-cells toward the Th1 Cell subtype. Because of its important role in Th1 Cell differentiation, familial deficiency of IL-12 results in disseminated Mycobacterial infections.
