Carbachol
Overview |
---|
- Carbachol is a synthetic direct cholinergic agonist that is less prone to destruction by cholinesterases and is thus long-acting. It is primarily used topically in the eye to induce miosis of the pupil. This is done prior to certain ophthalmological surgeries and in the medical treatment of glaucoma. When used topically in this form there are few systemic adverse effects.
