Adrenergic Antagonist

Overview
  • Adrenergic Antagonists are drugs that bind to adrenergic receptors but do not cause activation of the usual intracellular signaling pathways. The vast majority of these drugs bind reversibly and are thus competitive antagonists. These drugs have been developed to display significant specificity in their action and are thus classified by what adrenergic receptor subtype they antagonize. In general, adrenergic antagonists are used for modulation of the cardiovascular system.
