- Liquifactive Necrosis is a particular morphological pattern of Necrosis. It is caused when enzymatic protein degradation is the predominant necrotic process and there is only a small contribution from protein denaturation. Consequently, the architecture of the necrotic tissues is rapidly disrupted and rendered amorphous
- Liquifactive necrosis is often seen in infectious processes in which immune inflammatory cells such as Neutrophils release large amounts of potent degradative enzymes into the inflamed tissue
