Hepatic Circulatory Disorder

  • This section covers hepatic disorders initiated by compromise of the hepatic circulation. While a wide variety of etiologies can lead to hepatic circulatory derangement, we make special mention of four particular pathogenic mechanisms. Note that obstruction of the hepatic artery is not included because this mechanism is rare and does not result in significant consequences due to the presence of the additional portal circulation to the liver.
