Hemangioma

- Hemangiomas are localized proliferations of blood vessels which look normal to mildly abnormal. They are often difficult to distinguish from a hamartoma of blood vessels.
Location |

- Hemangiomas usually occur superficially, often in the head and neck; however, a significant number also occur in the liver.
Clinical Consequences |
---|
- Hemangiomas are usually benign. They often present when born and can grow during infancy and childhood. Most spontaneously regress at puberty.
