Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma

  • As the name suggests, mucoepidermoid carcinomas consist of a mixture of cells ranging from epithelial squamous cells to mucus-secreting cells along with forms intermediate between these two extremes intermediate. Cells also range from relatively well-differentiated cells to those that are highly anaplastic. Most mucoepidermoid carcinomas occur in the parotid gland and represent the most common primary malignant neoplasia of the salivary glands.
