MALT Lymphoma

  • MALT Lymphoma, formally termed Extranodal Marginal Zone B-cell Lymphoma of MALT type, is a histological subtype of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) and accounts for roughly 8% of all NHLs. MALT lymphoma are of B-cell origin and occur at extranodal sites, that is, outside of lymph nodes which can include a number of organs and soft tissues; however, this neoplasm is most frequently observed in the MALT associated with the stomach and is discussed further under gastric lymphoma.
